Madness is more than a state of mind.

There are things I've locked away in my heart.
Images and ghostly shapes in the dark.
Looking out through eyes grown weary and grey.
Hoping someone helps me to see the light of day.

Pasting up these photographs upon my happy wall.
I notice that I'm almost done, one more you see.
That's all.
This mind of mine was once so clear,
I really had it all.
But now I don't know where it's gone,
I've taken quite a fall.

I see roses!! In the halls, I paint these walls.

I see the picture of you on the wall.
I tried to take it down one time,
The chair was just too small.
It's taken me some 50 years to play this little game.
The rules are changing every day,
The prize is still the same.

Last night I wandered down rose colored halls.
The visions that I'm seeing are painted on these walls.
The dreams I have of you each night,
Are tearing at my soul,
I only hope you hear my cries,
The madness takes it's toll.
