Last year, a good friend of mine was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and although Ralph was never a religious man, he spent the last few months of his life looking for and apparently finding God. When I started writing this song shortly after his death, heavily influenced by Justin Hayward's Question, it occurred to me that this song was as much about me as it was about Ralph. The search for answers, meaning, and the need we all have at some point to understand what life is all about. Just before his death, Ralph had asked me to write a song for him, but he died so soon afterwords that I never really got a chance to think about it while he was alive. So now, I hope to do justice to his request with this song. It is not a sad song, because I don't think that is what he would have wanted. It is a song that I think he would have understood and although I am no Justin Hayward, hopefully liked. Thanks Ralph... I know you're out there.
lyrics
I'm looking for a sign to follow you,
Cause I cant stop the bleeding in my heart.
I'm waiting for these walls to crumble down,
Because I'm tired.
I'm dreaming of the way it used to be,
When the only thing that mattered wasn't real.
But now I see as the twilight beckons me,
There is meaning.
Speak the words I long to hear, tell me truth, give me freedom.
I am dreaming of the way it used to be.
Touch my heart, Ill understand all along there's been a reason.
Now I see the twilight beckons me.
I am searching for a sign to follow you.
Speak the words I long to hear, tell me truth, give me freedom.
I am dreaming of the way it used to be.
Touch my heart, Ill understand all along there's been a reason.
Now I see the twilight beckons me.
I am opening my heart and soul to you.
I close my eyes, cause I'm still too blind to see.
Am I standing on the threshold of a dream?
The feeling grows, as the morning beckons me.

Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock

When you like your prog to be more beautiful and/or accessible than prog-proggy, than this is for you! Melodic as hell and yes, Peter Falconer is quite a singer! That wouldn't go half the way without the solid songs of Pat Sanders. A great combination of skills ;-) Carsten Pieper
