Altered States

Alrihkh A very good album to lose track of time to. I usually prefer music that is a little more adventurous, but this is spot on for when my mind needs a mellow outing. Dreamy, insightful, and a tad mystical. The title track is quite interesting & would be my favourite if not for my love of captivating flute instrumentals. This album sounds very much the younger sibling of ‘Old Souls’. 7.5/10. Favorite track: The Trap.
Nickie Harte Kelly

Nickie Harte Kelly Multi-instrumentalist Rick Miller composes in the style of 70s symphonic progressive rock music. Thematically, this outing references paganistic other-consciousnesses, dream states and shape-shifting. Keyboards and guitars, along with flutes, cello, violin and percussion create the sonic backdrop to his metaphysical musings. Another satisfying release after last year’s Old Souls. Favorite track: Borrowed Time.

vaile7 put on the headphones, close your eyes and listen. you dive into a world of your own. stylistically like the first records by Alan Parson Projekt: House of Usher or The turn of a friendly card and especially Tales from the mystery…… Edgar Alan Poe.(especially in the first song when the croaking of the crows follows) great

I feel the need for something new, To touch the grass and morning dew. To change my soul and my body too, An altered state from which I knew. Take me to a higher plane, Where life won’t be the same. My destiny. I’ve had time enough for love, But that won’t be enough, for eternity. Oh, to reach an altered state, the things I could create, If time would let me. I want to rise above it all, waiting for the final call, to eternity. Another world has opened up for me, I’m changing now to what I need to be. I feel the need for something new. To touch the grass and morning dew. Take me to a higher plane, Where life won’t be the same. My destiny. I’ve had time enough for love, But that won’t be enough, for eternity. Oh, to reach an altered state, the things I could create, If time would let me. I want to rise above it all, waiting for the final call, to eternity.

Wolf Moon 09:42
I watch the sun go down from high on hallowed ground. A distant angel cries. A soul too young to die. I wait. Deep in the heart of a soul who had nothing to loose, Breathing, seething, alive. I search through the night, I feel this inglorious fright. It keeps my spirit alive. The moon hanging high like a jewel in the sky. I can feel that hunger tonight. And I see the moon in your eyes as I go darkly, Through the solitary night. Morning has broken. The light chases darkness away. There’s no one who knows what I am. There is no one who knows what I am. I watch the sun go down. I wait. I wait. And I see the moon in your eyes, As I go darkly, Through the solitary night. I can feel that hunger tonight. There’s no one who knows what I am. It keeps my spirit alive. There is no one who knows what I am.

To live a life on borrowed time, The glow of youth left far behind. To seek the truth on bended knee, You have to look before you see. I listen for the Siren’s song, To lead me where my heart belongs. This forking path from which I’ve come, A knowing voice that can’t be wrong. Is there a plan in place to see us through this time and space? I watch and wait for subtle signs that life is more than borrowed time. If I waited till the end of time, Would it matter to this heart of mine? I need to know if the time is right, For me to see your guiding light. An angel came to me one day to help me see a better way. I told her that I’d seen the signs and I’d paid back my borrowed time. Yes I’d paid back my borrowed time.

Old Secrets 05:57
Sleep, sleep your life away, I want to know what your dreams have to say. Give, give your soul to me, Destiny knows what will be will be. Out of the darkness where old secrets lie, Bright streaks of morning appear in the sky, No one can answer the sins of the past. Time waits for no one. The dream didn’t last. Ghosts in the shadows remind you of me. Karma can tell you what you really need. Old souls awaken when night starts to fall, They know Nirvana is starting to call. Out of the darkness where old secrets lie, Bright streaks of morning appear in the sky. No one can answer the sins of the past. Time waits for no one. The dream didn’t last. I see the tears you have cried, Heaven will know if time’s on your side.

I wish I was the autumn breeze and part of me still, the raging sea. I could become a stately tree and have the forest belong to me. If all we see or can be seen is but a dream within a dream, I want to be the gentle breeze, the raging sea, the tallest tree. Though life has past me by, the days are lost, I do not cry. Like golden grains of sand as they slip through my open hand. I stand amid the roar of a surf tormented shore, and I dream. I dream myself to another place, another face, another time. For this world is mine. The world is mine. If all we see or can be seen is but a dream within a dream, I want to be the gentle breeze, the raging sea, the tallest tree. If all we see or can be seen is but a dream within a dream, I want to be the gentle breeze, the raging sea, the tallest tree. I stand amid the ocean roar upon a wind swept tormented shore. And all I see or can be seen is but a dream within a dream.
